MonHi, I’m Monica!  Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me.  My short story is that I’m a veteran journalist, experienced entrepreneur, and emerging mental health professional working to reduce poverty and health disparities in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas.  I am currently researching how racial minorities secure decent work and, in another study, the status of health psychology in Jamaica.  My current work as a contracted training and technical assistance provider is aimed at reducing teen pregnancy and sexually-transmitted diseases in a poverty-stricken region.  Thus, I am both a researcher and practitioner.
